Frequently Asked Questions
Integrative Counseling Services
What are session rates?
Professional Integrative Counseling Services: $175/Session
Do you take insurance?
Calm Hearts Counseling is an Out-Of-Network (OON) Provider. We accept payment through cash, credit card, and check, HSA and FSA accounts. We are able to provide clients who actively engaged in therapy with a Superbill (receipt) to submit to their insurance company for potential reimbursement for out-of-network costs. It is the responsibility of the client to speak with their insurance company and to understand their OON Benefits.
How do I start therapy & how long will I be in therapy?
We ask new clients commit to weekly sessions as we begin to work together. This helps us to the clinical groundwork for successful outcomes. As we see progress toward therapy goals and symptom reduction (usually within 1-2 months), we will discuss reducing frequency of appointments, usually to every other week until symptoms gradually decrease. We will check in periodically during sessions to explore what you’re needing more or less of, ensuring our time together is on track to help you meet your goals for therapy.
Who do you work with?
We work with individuals who are ready and motivated to engage in the therapeutic journey. Our services are specifically tailored to address trauma, grief, reproductive losses, life transitions, chronic illness, and women’s mental health. In our initial session we will discuss with you if our approach and services are in alignment with your goals. If it is determined that we are not a fit for ongoing therapy, we will be happy to provide you with referrals to providers we know and trust.
Can I just come see you once-in-awhile?
Therapy is an investment of time and money, and it’s understandable you may want to spread out session attendance, come casually or on an as-needed basis. However, this slows progress and limits outcomes, ultimately costing you more in the long run.
That said, we require clients to commit to weekly sessions at the start of therapy to lay the foundation for successful outcomes. We do not offer appointments on an as-needed basis.
Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?
Sessions are in-person at our tranquil offices in the Dobson Ranch Corridor in Mesa, Arizona. Telehealth (video) counseling appointments are conveniently available for residents throughout Arizona.
What is your cancellation policy?
48 hours advance notice, excluding weekends and holidays. As an example: If you have an appointment on Monday at 1pm, adjustments to the appointment time must be made before 1pm the Thursday prior. A cancellation or change made after 48 hours will be charged the full fee of session, as we reserve your appointment time just for you. Telehealth counseling options are always available for when you’re having a last-minute scheduling hiccup or if you’re not feeling well the day-of session.
Am I able to integrate my faith values or spiritual views into therapy?
Absolutely! Faith formation and spiritual values are deeply personal and unique to each individual. Whether spirituality or faith is a vital part of your life, if you are navigating a faith transition, or you have experienced religious wounding, or perhaps religion or faith have no present bearing on your journey, we are equipped and available to honor your preferences and requests.
If I’m working with a psychiatric or medical provider, are you able and willing to coordinate with them?
Absolutely! With a signed Release of Information (ROI), we are happy to coordinate care with additional providers as part of your mental health care team, ensuring that you receive the highest level or coordinated care.
