I’m Christine Slomski, Licensed Professional Counselor, Brainspotting & EMDR Therapist and Reproductive Trauma & Grief Specialist with 20 years of experience in integrative, mind-body therapies woven into my offerings for women at Calm Hearts Counseling.
My heart’s work is to help women come home to calm in mind, body, heart and spirit so they can truly flourish in their lives, vocations and relationships—to feel like themselves again after years of holding all the pieces, putting peace of mind on hold—and themselves last. Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
Experience freedom from the mental, emotional & physical aftermath of trauma using the power of Somatic EMDR, an integrative psychotherapy tool using bilateral stimulation to clear trauma, anxiety, panic, depression, rumination, and a range of mental, emotional & physical issues.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a somatic therapeutic approach that helps identify, process, and release trauma, emotional pain, and distress by using specific eye positions connected to stored experiences in the brain. By accessing deeper parts of the brain beyond traditional talk therapy, it supports healing at a neurological level, often leading to lasting relief and increased emotional resilience.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping),
Meridian Therapy
Clinical EFT Tapping, or Meridian Therapy, is a brain-body stress reduction tool combining psychology with acupressure points. Clinical EFT Tapping quickly and effectively calms the nervous within minutes, and is highly effective for healing traumatic memories.
Somatic Therapies
Somatic therapies are gentle, body-based approaches like breath work, parts work, gentle movement, havening, acupressure or tapping that help to facilitate emotional healing and resilience. Somatic therapies are based on the evidence that our bodies store our stress, memories, and traumatic experiences. By tuning in to the body and its cues, we can release tension, heal trauma, and feel more grounded, clear, and whole.
What does Somatic, mean?
Somatic refers to being of or relating to the body.
Somatic therapy explores how the body remembers, stores, and expresses past painful experiences as if they were happening now.
In somatic therapy, we shift from talking & analyzing and gently lean into the body’s signals for healing. From here, we learn to process stored tension, stress, and unresolved emotions.
